Connecting Twilio for SMS Notifications

Cashbook supports SMS and email notifications for batch authorisations using Twilio as the SMS provider.

Cashbook supports SMS and email notifications for batch authorisations using Twilio as the SMS provider. Before configuring Cashbook, you will need a Twilio account.

Step 1: Sign up for Twilio

Visit www.twilio.com and register for an account. Note: if using a trial version of Twilio, you must verify your phone number before you can send messages. Twilio will provide you with a phone number to use as the sender.

Step 2: Gather your Twilio credentials

From your Twilio account, collect the following:

  • Account SID
  • API Key SID
  • API Key Secret
  • Your Twilio phone number (this becomes the "From SMS Number")

Step 3: Configure notifications in Cashbook

Navigate to C/B Setup | C/B Options | Notifications and enter the following:

Step 4: Test the setup

Enter a mobile number in the SMS Phone To (Test) field and select Send Test SMS to confirm the connection is working before going live.
