Bank Statement Balance Differs Between Screen and Printed Report

The bank statement balance (BK) shown on the C/B Bank Reconciliation screen does not match the printed Bank Reconciliation report.

If the bank statement balance shown on the C/B Bank Reconciliation screen differs from the balance on the printed Bank Reconciliation report, follow these steps:

  1. Run the Cashbook Data Integrity Check to check for errors. Fix any errors found before proceeding.
  2. In the Bank Reconciliation screen, set the date range to the full historical range: From: 01/01/1900 To: 31/12/2999.
  3. Compare the balances shown on screen to those on a printed report using the same date range. If they now match, the issue is date-range related.
  4. If they still differ, check the CBTRHD table in the company database for transactions with anomalous dates — look for rogue dates such as year 1900 by checking the DATE, PERIOD, and FISCYR fields.
  5. Correct any transactions with invalid dates and recheck the balances.
